Our official hotel partner is Mercure Miri City Centre. We will be sharing special discount codes soon exclusively for out of town IXF attendees. -
We think you will have a packed schedule at the festival BUT if you have the time, here are some recommendations:
- Hangout to watch the sunset over some food and drinks at Piasau Boat Club
- Go up to Canada Hill to visit the Miri signage at sunrise or sunset
- Get a walk in and then do dinner at Taman Awam foodcourt (get your fix of satay, seafood and more)
- Have drinks and bites with an amazing view at the rooftop of Mercure Miri City Centre
And if you are staying with us longer in Miri, you can also visit Niah Cave! We recommend this to be a full day trip. -
It officially ends 1 August 2025. Which means starting 2 August 2025, 3-day tickets will be priced at RM120 and per day tickets are RM50. For tickets with Randau Ruai, it’s RM250 (for 3-days).

Randau Ruai is a networking session that happens from 4pm onwards (after main programming ends), where attendees will get to mingle with speakers, performers, indigenous leaders, allies, as well as festival funders and sponsors. Bites and drinks included!

Mostly, but we strive to include Bahasa and indigenous language translations wherever possible, including in our talks and panel sessions. Other than our local communities, we will be having regional and international guests as well - therefore the main medium of communication is in English. We will have on-site multi-lingual support, so reach out to them if you need help understanding something.
The best source of information would be on the website. However, for live updates and potential ad hoc information, do follow our social media channels (ixfest on IG ad FB) as well.
-
We will not stop you from bringing your own food and drinks but we would like to ask for you to dispose of any trash in the designated bins. When possible, bring your own containers and water bottles to reduce use of single use plastic. But please, do consider supporting our food and drinks vendors on site!
-
Parking is limited, so please car pool, jump on a city shuttle (from Mercure Miri City Centre or Miri Visitor Information Centre every two hours), or consider using ride hailing apps!
-
Yes, definitely! We will have local vendors selling food and drinks at our Tamu marketplace!
-
It is mostly sheltered, but you can never be too prepared. Have your umbrella, raincoat (or change of shoes) ready.
