Your hosts for IXF
This festival was born from a powerful calling, a desire to create something meaningful, where Indigenous voices aren't just featured, but truly celebrated. Each year, as Gawai and Kaamatan approached, I noticed a growing interest from brands and creatives wanting to tell our stories. But storytelling isn't just about representation. It's about relationships. I’ve always said: if you want to understand us, come here. Walk with us. Listen. Share in our lives. That’s how real understanding begins.
IXF is that opportunity to experience it all. Across three days, we are offering a powerful programme filled with meaningful conversations, Indigenous voices, and the chance for genuine connection and collaboration.
Juvita T. Wan - IXF Executive Producer, The Tuyang
When we set out to build IXF, it wasn’t just about organising another festival, it was about shifting perspective.
I wanted people to experience something that feels different, looks different. Something that challenges expectations of what a cultural event can be - especially here in Sarawak. We’re placing indigenous voices at the centre, not just to be heard, but to lead. From the way things are designed, to the conversations we host, to how the music sounds and food is served, every part is intentional.
This festival is a platform. A strong one. One that shows the world what our local communities are capable of when given space, respect and trust.
